Established in 2011, the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) represents a relationship-based policing model that has proven effective in building public trust and reducing crime. Considered a trust-generating, relationship-based policing strategy, it offers opportunities to heal old wounds and build new relationships while enabling community members and officers to move beyond long-standing conflicts and secure safety in historically dangerous neighborhoods.

Although 2025 has gotten off to an incredibly difficult start here in Los Angeles, Community Safety Partnership Bureau is committed to upholding the key components that make these partnerships a success for the department and the community we serve.

Public Safety - Our officers care deeply about the residents they meet and interact with in each neighborhood. Safety and increased feelings of security are priority number one.

Community Engagement - Engagement and education are at the forefront of officer's efforts. Events such as Summer Night Lights and a long list of on-going youth programs help to keep lines of communication open.

Wrap-Around Programming - Officers are often the first point of contact for community members in need of services. CSPB officers are trained and equipped to connect those in crisis with vital resources.

Safe Passages - Keeping students safe while traveling to and from school allows them to focus on their studies without the distraction of criminal activity. Officers provide 5-day coverage and work with the schools in their area to ensure routes remain free of debris and other distractions.

Enhanced Community Capacity - CSP encourages community members to plan and implement events that celebrate the unique qualities of each neighborhood and inspire connection and unity. Officers work closely with partners such as @wgtf2024 @hacla1938 City Council members and so many more, to bring excitement, engagement, and education to their areas.

Sunburst is a voluntary and free program for students who are struggling in school and want the opportunity to significantly improve their grades while learning valuable skills about independence and how to thrive in every aspect of their lives.

Police Commission President Erroll Southers @esouthershve attended the event and shared his thoughts on the importance of bringing together community youth and law enforcement through mentorship and athletic programs.

@wattsrams teams, coached by LAPD officers, give kids the opportunity to interact with officers in a positive way, receive mentorship and guidance in a supportive team environment, and gain life skills that set them on a path to success.

During this day of mentorship the positive messages players receive on the field were reinforced and new connections were formed.

Dodgers Watch Party at Algin Sutton Park was a resounding success, bringing together countless community members and families to enjoy the game amidst a lively atmosphere filled with various activities for kids and adults alike. ⚾️

This event showcased a remarkable collaboration between CD 8, CSPB, Play LA, GRYD, and numerous other dedicated nonprofit service providers, all working in unison to create a memorable evening for everyone in attendance. 🧢

CSP Officers from Pueblo del Rio encourage students to participate in the 100 Mile Club to motivate kids to live an active, healthy, and happy lifestyle. 👟

This inclusive and evidence-based program challenges kids to run, jog or walk 100 miles during the school year while earning incentives along the way. The program also seeks to overcome the challenges associated with childhood obesity and inactivity.

The kids are motivated to get to school on time and log their miles every Tuesday & Thursday morning. We can't wait to see their progress by the end of the school year! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Do you remember these motorbike riders from a few months ago? This weekend they graduated from the @lapd_ohv4me program! It was so impressive to see huge improvements in technique, ability, and confidence. 🏍

This group has worked hard not only on learning new physical skills, but also looking inside and taking the steps to improve their lives.

The instructors have dedicated countless hours to ensuring each participant identified goals and developed a plan to attain success at home, at school, and beyond.

Congrats on your outstanding achievements! 🌟
